Married ? Apparently because records show his money was returned to his widow after his death during the Civil War by a Lieut. Schrock

Enrolled out of Somerset, PA on Oct. 16, 1862

Died June 12, 1863 in Washington, North Carolina

Rank at Death: Corporal, Co. H Regiment 171 Infantry

Cause of Death: Disease

Phillip's name is on the monument in front of the Somerset Courthouse

Buried at the National Cemetery Plot 7 Grave 96
